It says when an authorized ford/mercury dealer installs it, you get a "limited" warranty..

Does that mean you maintain your Powertrain warranty?

Just curious.

IMO, you wasted your money. The K&N drop-in is useless. The Ford tune provides maybe 15 crank HP (about 13 RWHP) whereas a good custom tune and CAI combo provides about 30 HP (about 25 or more RWHP). The dealer cannot void your warranty for aftermarket parts unless the part directly caused the failure.

For $170 I say that's a score. As for warranty on aftermarket parts guess what.... The dealer can say "Hey your customer tune caused engine failure due to running lean/rich etc...." so they kind of do have you by the ballz!

You just proved my point. With the FRPP tune you can't do chit and you're stock with Ford for any customer service. With Brenspeed or AM, they'll help you with any issues, pronto, and the car simply runs better and harder. And, FWIW, considering the shear number of folks running custom tunes, check and see how many have had any REAL issues related to their custom tune.

Boy....what a way to steal the wind out from his sails, Nuke. Lol.

But it is true, you will get much more from a custom tune.

Yeah, being blunt and to the point can sometimes be painful.
