Default Headers Questions and Your Help Please

I am thinking about putting some shorty headers on my 09 Bullitt. I know there's not a lot of power gain but that's not what I'm after. Car only goes to the strip occasionally. I spend a lot of time at cruises and shows and I hate the looks of the stock headers. I really don't want to spend the money on long tubes and x pipe right now.

I've looked at quite a few but would love your opinions experiences.
1. Should I go with polished, stainless, chrome or ceramic?

2. Have looked at BBK, Pypes, and JBA's. What are your recommendations experiences with these?

Thanks for the help!!!

Seriously save your money for long tubes or stick with the stockers. Install is a hassle and only worth it for the lt.'s IMO.

I agree! You did say you did not want to spend the money on long tubes right now... do once right, not over!

OK. So if I decided to do the longtubes, how about the brands mentioned above? Or others?
And chrome, ceramic, polished or stainless?

I'd not go with chrome.
Ceramic is good.
Helps to keep the temperature down.

Anyone know if there is a significant weight reduction between the cast iron stockers and a set of shorties? Just curious if it might be worth considering them to pull some weight out of the front end.

SilentG, a buddy of mine had a Civic that cracked the exhaust manifold, and it was cheaper to replace it with a set of headers, so we did so. I'd say (roughly) that they weighed half the cast iron piece. So, I'd say, yes... it will likely remove some measurable amount of weight over the front end.

ceramic helps with engine temps and since you go to shows, it will help keep the headers looking new longer.
for brands i would go with ARH, Kooks, or if you want cheaper go with Mac or BBK.
i would not go cheaper than Mac or BBK, although i've heard good things about Pypes LT's.
