Unhappy Sound issue?

Hello. First post here, searched around for a bit and couldn't find anyone with a similar problem/solution.

First off, I just relocated from Florida back to Michigan. It was roughly 1k mile trip.

Problem: Immediately following the trip my 2010 Mustang GT's "growl" isn't the same. Before the trip when accelerating, I could hear the "growl" in certain circumstances (such as accelerating through a turn, etc..). Now when I step on it; I barely hear any feedback from the engine.

I'm a noob still when it comes to cars (trying to learn as much as possible, but it's a process like anything else.) I've checked the air filter (I have a reusable K&N filter which looks clean). Only have roughly 16,000 miles on the car so I doubt the cat. is clogged. Also I had some weight in the car (moving a lot of stuff) however I don't believe I was near the max weight for the car.

Any suggestions what's up with the car? Thanks for any help/advice!

What do you mean by grawl? do you feel a loss of power?...i would think after a long drive the engine would be more responsive to displaying its power.

Sorry, the "growl" is the engine feedback coming through the sound induction tube (at least I think so.) It's the feedback you can hear from the driver seat.

Thanks for the help!

The car does seem to be a little more sluggish, not by much really. It seems to take more (few hundred) RPMs to reach a cruising speed than before.

Partially clogged cats perhaps? They have been know to internally disintegrate on occation.

Turn up your hearing aid.

Is it possible that you're simply more accustomed to the sound? Maybe there's an obstruction in the tube.

Wouldn't the check engine light go off or give an engine code from the sensor? If I get one of those tuners (http://www.americanmuscle.com/sct-x3...ash-tuner.html) that reads and flashes the computer, would I be able to check the cats through any type of diagnostic?

I could be wrong, as I said before I'm still new with cars. (Thanks for the reply too!)
