Are you looking for a new or used Mustang?

If you're considering an '05 thru '10, be sure to read thru the TSB's in the sticky in the 2005-2011 main forum. You need to know what issues pertain to this model to help you from buying someone elses nightmare. Of course, if you're looking to buy an '11, then... nevermind.

it all depends what ill see when i start actually searching because at this point im just getting ideas. most likely 01-04 Gt or a 05-08 V6 so thats just the situation. ill probably look to spend 9-12k the whole money down payment situation. any suggestions on which i should go for older or newer?

Just curious, why would you get a V8 in the 01-04 yrs, but a V6 in the 05-09 yrs?

well im just lookin at current stangs on sale in my price range and id have no problem with a V6 in that body style cuz i like it anyway its just a decision between newer interior and body style in trade for less power. or old int/bod. style for more pwr (hopefully GT premium)

My buddy has a '03 GT I have driven it a few times. Yeah it does have more power, but I don't feel a drastic difference. I'm happy w/ my V6, but there is nothing wrong with the older 'Stangs either.

Are you looking to spend 9-12k total, or 9-12k just on the down payment? If the second is true, what are you looking to keep your monthly payments at? Do I sound like a dealer yet?

There are 05+ GT's to be had for $12k and under if you look hard enough and more showing up as time goes by (thanks to the debut of the 5.0). I have an '06 V6 and '07 GT and you'll kick yourself for not footing the few extra $$'s for the GT.
