Default best gears for a roots style sc and a auto

Hello I have a Magancharger with a 2.90 inch pulley. I just got my Tuneable Inductions cai along with my PTC convertor (3200-3400) and a Shaftmasters I piece ds.. The car still has the factory 3.31's, do you think I should go with 3.73's or 4.10's... Any advice would be very appreciated... I plan on running ET Streets on my stock rims.. I guess next round will be LT's and a larger heat exchanger , maybe Steeda or AFCO..

Keep them stock or 3.73 at the most. You don't need a steep gear with a positive displacement blower. The low end tq they make is more than enough down low.

LilRoush does the Eaton based sc's run out of steam at 5500? On my dyno sheet looks to be making decent power at 6200.

Depends on the set up. My V6 does, but I also make full tq by 2500RPM. The V8's power band is a lot higher and pulls all the way to redline.

I had 4.10s on the V6 and stepped back to stock 3.27. First gear was a waste and second was only there long enough to get me to third. The 3.27 make it much easier to move down low and still give me high end.

The V8 has 3.55s and it's a great match.

Thanks for clearing that up... I know the Magnacharger is not the Greatest, but for the money 3900 it's a 112 Eaton . I have seen pullies that go down to 2.60 which; should be around 13.5 lbs.. I know heat soak is my enemy along with high IAT's. Then they also make a 10-15% overdriven crank pulley . I just want to have some fun with this car..

From what I hear, the AFCO dual fan XXL heat exchanger will keep the Magna running fresh and cool and take care of all your cooling needs

Its MASSIVE compared to the other standard upgrades.

That M112 will make more than the stock motor can handle lol

Keep it running cool, and it'll take care of you..

I would be looking at a 3.73 since you have the convertor. There are several guys here who have put in 4.10s with an auto and like it.

I would find someone who has done both and actually takes their car to the track for a good opinion based on experience.

If you had a astick car, I would say for sure do the 4.10s.

thanks for all the replies.. I think I am leaning towards the 3.73's myself. What does anybdoy think about a electrirc H2o pump? Would a tubular K member really make a noticeable difference? Again thanks..

3.73 gets my vote too but only if you really want to swap. I'd also lean more to leaving stock especially if you already have 3.55's
