Cost For Ported Heads?

Cost For Ported Heads?
So I am going to get a new tune at the first of the year.
It just popped in my mind that I might go ahead and get some ported heads.
But it REALLY depends on the cost.
I am not sure what heads I should go with or how much it would
cost total with install (around)
If I am looking at 1500 with the tune I might have to wait
until this summer to get it done.
But I thought I would check and see.
So give me the scoop.
What heads should I go with and how much
am I looking at for the cost of the heads and then cost of the install and tune?
Oh also... do delete plates cause you to lose low end torque?
I was thinking about adding these now if the heads are too much to squeeze
on the pocket book after Christmas.
Thanks

IMO, the factory heads flow just fine for the cams you have. As I have stated earlier, if you increase the flow of the heads, you will want to change out to a more aggressive cam profile to take advantage of the increased flow. So if you are going to go further with your upgrades, go big! (throttle body, intake manifold, heads, cams) Just realize that you will lose low end torque while gaining horsepower above 5,500 RPMs.
On CMDPs, I was surprised that my butt dyno felt a noticeable increase in low-end torque after the CMDP install. Before the CMDPs, my car felt like it was starving for air below 3,000 RPMs. So I would say that CMDPs would be an inexpensive next mod for you to do.

I read that when they were talking about the new FRRP intake.
They were talking about the intake not having the plates and what deletes did too.

I wouldn't bother with ported head with the cams you have. Get the CMCV deletes if you do not have them yet, that loss of low end trq is a bunch of poop spread by people too cheap to spend money for a part, labor and tune.

Im not saying you are lying or mistaken but I read it from Muscle Mustangs and also heard it from a mechanic I know who is VERY good at his job working on Mustangs.
In theory the delete plates are supposed to make your intake flow better by removing the butterflies from the CMCV system.According to Ford, it helps by giving you more torque at lower RPMs, then opening up as the flow increases. Remove them and you supposedly lose that torque.
He said it was kind of a trade and so did the mag.
I have read this numerous times in different mags and articles as well.

I agree with stealth_GT, I actually noticed better throttle response with the delete plates. Definitely a must for Mustangs with cams!
BTW, the research I did on the FRPP intake manifold does indicate a significant loss of low-end torque due to the shorter and larger volume intake runners. This intake manifold is best when paired with centri-type superchargers or turbochargers IMO.
