Guys. Just joined the forum soon after buying an 2005 GT Convert, 5 speed.
Found some good tips. Now I have a question.

Just installed the Ford CAI and purchased the SCT SF3 tuner kit
to make a simple performance mod right..?

The SCT tuner steps through Program, Strategy Tune, but never
gets to the assumed next selection of 87 Octane / 91 Octane / 93 Oct
menu. Is it me or did I get shipped the wrong tuner.

Naturally... AM and SCT are closed for the remainder of the weekend.

Who'd you buy it from?

If you need to drive the car, put the stock airbox back on or you'll throw a CEL for running lean. Not a good long term thing and the car will probably run poorly with the FRPP CAI and stock tune.

Bought from AM and have an email into them for support. I am thinking they shipped the tuner with a custom tune. 3 weeks after ordering I called to check the status and the person on the phone said that they were waiting for me to email specifications.
After mentioning that I simply wanted the 3 preset they shipped.

When you purchase the tuner you have to submit a form that contains all the specifications of YOUR car. Then they plug those into the tuner for you and create three tunes (Street, Performance and Racing). Usually you assign a lower octane to the street tune and higher octanes for the others. Sounds like you forgot that very important step.

I am starting to think that this is the case. The Tuner detail leads one to believe that is comes with 3 set tunes and no additional information is required. Guess I will work this from the bottom up on Monday. Thanks !

Canned tunes will work on most any S197 but they suck. AM & Brenspeed do not sell canned tunes. They need your PCM code.
