umm.. yes

Actually, I like the lope but with a whisper quiet exhaust tone..

I prefer the element of surprise, rather than announcing to the world I have the powwwaaaaaaaa

I want headers bad but am afraid it will be too loud if I put them on. Chambered mufflers definitely sound the best with cams.
Try your set-up with a catted X. Trust me. it sounds awesome. It will still be deep but it will also have a throaty tone. At wot it sounds awesome.

might add that if your looking for that old school lope i think its hard to achieve that without making the car a pain in the *** to drive daily

I want the lope so strong, it loosens my bowels

The lope on my mustang will satisfy you, but alas the vehicle is no longer streetable. The decibel level alone would get you towed.

now THAT is how cams should sound like! ^^

Most of the cams for our cars sound like tractors to me for some reason..

OMG......it looks like a normal mustang in the video but that tone sounds exactly like the 8 second cars in the staging lanes headed for the burnout box!!! Awesome Steve, simply awesome.

Car was running consistent 10.0s before motor went supernova. Most unlikely to see 8s. Expect mid to lowish 9s. You just never know..... If the thing runs a 9.3 or something, we might push it further. Might be worth exploding another motor to hit 8.999....lol

If I wanted that I go start up the 65'. 408ci with a mechanical cam and 850 lift. Straight long tubes with a 3" collector. Yeah it's loud and shakes your guts.

I've been thinking of getting a different cam, but have resisted because I need:

Different set of wheels tires (for the track)
Atleast 5 point roll bar, seat belts and driver seat.

And at some point, a new trannsmision. Still haven't decided what I will do. I know a built auto will be the fastest. So . . . .I don't know what I will do.

I'm trapping 127-129 and the boost is only at 15 psi.

Simon

You could be mid 10s with that trap with the right setup. My car was trapping around 128, going mid 10s and around 135 for consistent 10.0s. Vid is a little old and before present rebuild. Transmission was a 4r70w with transbrake. Sold it to a mate. The first night he went to the track with his 4r (and some other changes), he dropped from mid 11s to 10.3 ET. The new build includes a 2 speed powerglide.

I feel you have a low 10 second car, if you are willing to trade speed for loss of comfort and utility.
