Default auto trans fluid flushes?

How many of you auto trans guys have had your trans fluid flushed?

It's about 37k miles on mine and I am planning on flushing it out before the week is over.

It's the shops BG auto trans flush system.. looks to be pretty effective and simple to use.. just curious of how many other auto trans guys are doing this and what miles.

Way over due for my 30k maintenance but everything is has been well maintained.. oil changes, tires rotations, brakes/rotors, coolant etc.

Come on Stealth climb your *** under there and change that fluid yourself like me. Get all frustrated while slippery trans fluid spills all over you while you are trying to hand pump it in.............good times man!! LOL

I did mine at 18k since I race so much. I plan to do it once a year, which means about every 3k miles. LOL

I could not take it in for a flush......I really dont trust anybody else working on my car.

IMO, unless you're racing, tranny flushes aren't necessary until at least the 60k mile mark. But that's up to you. With all of the vehicles I've owned (over 12), my typical tranny flush was at 80k-100k miles. I never had tranny issues and about half my vehicles went over 200,000 miles.

?? I always thought that when racing an auto trans, fluid flushes were supposed to be done regularly? because of the greater heat created?

I know my trans gets VERY hot whenever I race.. not sure about manuals..

lol did it a few days ago, but it was a transmission flush machine. I know a dude at a transmission shop and he hooked me up

I have done filters before (drop the pan, drain, replace the filter etc.) but not a complete flush via machine.

I don't really like the filter only services because it leaves so much of the old stuff behind (4-5 qrts from what I hear)

.. I use the hand pump and pipe fitting (fitted into the drain plug screw) method on services. Yeah, it's not as easy as that little machine, but it works

You're not kidding about getting drenched if you're not careful.. I use to do transmission services on diesels and that was no fun! rofl

This is on my list this year not looking forward to it. Since I still have less the 24k I'm thinking just a filter change now and do a complete change when I do a TC.

Being blown I think we need to service our more frequently. I thought I had read where we can add the fluid through the trans catch can. Will have to call Jim Jr. up and clarify. If so, then its a piece of cake job. If not then the next time I do it, I am gonna put some pipe clamps on the pump ends to avoid all the damn slipping and squirting that occured! LOL

I agree about the service interval for a blown motor, thats a great idea about the catch can if it works would still be slow but would be much easier .

Just trying to get the car level is a PIA to begin with. I swap all fluids every October and I drive only about 3k miles a year. Went to get my srt/10 saftey checked yesterday and noticed I put less than 500 miles on it last year!! LOL
