Default Muffler Delete in Texas?

Well i had one of my exhaust hanger on my factory system break off this week. It actually broke off of the passenger side rear on the muffler itself. So i was thinking about taking it to an exhaust shop and having them reweld it on and then i got the idea.. Why not just have them do a muffler delete instead? Anyone with a muffler delete know how loud it is with factory h pipe and manifolds? Also any of you texas residents that have had this done have any issues when it comes time for Inspection? Anyone know of some good tips that will fill up the cutouts?

hey bro, as far as the muffler delete goes, I was going to get some aftermarket mufflers for my GT500 but thought why not cut the weight and go with no mufflers. So that's what I did. I love the way it sounds now. Much better than OEM Shelby stuff IMO. These cars are super silent from the factory. In reference to the inspection, well I will PM you about that

Yea I originally wanted to buy the fr500 exhaust for my gt but I saw a post from a guy here who did a 100 dollar muffler delete for his 5.0 that sounded great so it got me thinkin on doing the same for my 4.6. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the slp loudmouths a muffler delete as well?

i have the MRT muffler delete...going to switch to SLP LoudMouth (also a muffler delete, just have the appearance of mufflers) the ones i have sound nice when you get on it, but are quiet(almost stock like when you're at idle) the SLP's sound great all around...muffler deletes will grab attention, but i think as long as you don't drive like a ricer you'll be good with the cops...i sometimes don't pay attention when i'm driving and am on the throttle while passing a cop and they'll follow me to a light or wherever i park and give me a thumbs up or ask what i have, some are cool about it

I too have deletes. I have factory manifolds and stock h pipe. At idle it sounds slightly louder than stock, when u get on it, it is really loud and it has some popping when u downshift. I am planning on putting long tube and after market cat's on it. I know it would be too loud with that setup so I am going to put a set of flowmasters on it when I do that. That being said, if you drive it normally I dont think you'll have to worry about the cops!

hows the drone with the muffler delete? i have some magnapacks on mine and the over all sound is quieter then i would like. but the drone is bad enough as it is. hell the drones louder than the exhaust at wide open throttle. to be honest it doesn't sound much louder than stock and it gives nasty drone to boot.

its livable but not to happy with it. i LOVE the sound of the mustang with muffler deletes. I can deal with some exhaust noise, but if it were to make the drone any worse for me it would be a no go.
