Default Porting throttle body

Can the throttle body be ported an polished without any problems. I've done other cars, just not familiar with the ford 4.6 engine parts yet. I enjoy doing these myself. It's an easy and cheap way for a little xtra air flow. I wondered if anyone has done their own and experienced any problems. I haven't had mine off yet so I'm not even sure what it looks like internally. The C6 corvette I did was extremely easy. It is large and fairly smooth already. Also did a ford ZX2, also very easy. Both without any problems.

no idea, but am curious...How do you do this (yourself) and what kinda increased air flow are we talking, huge or tiny? Also, is this basically the same as the FRPP TB?

Yes you can since there are a few companys that do just that; port and polish OE TB's and sell them as new. However, don't expect any gains unless you've done other mods internally where the engine can use that additional air. The stock TB is capable of providing whatever the stock 4.6 can ingest and then some. But it WILL look sweet!

I use a die grinder with a carbide deburring tool to remove any extra corners on the bore castings and just smooth out the area on each side of the butterfly. Don't remove anything where the butterfly closes in the midsection. After I've done this I sand and then polish the bore.
Does this gain much? I never had mine dynoed to see but others claim on the LS2 vette some low end torque and minimal HP gain. I just enjoy doing it and if I get a little return it was just my couple of hours in the workshop.
Oh and , I'm not familiar with "FRPP" sorry.

Thats a nice piece. I did a little research and found out that the FRPP throttle are larger bores, they have several sizes. I would say the one pictured is a 62 MM and the stock is 55MM. So, it is polished and also larger. When I port/polish a stock one I'm not increasing the bore size only making the inlet and outlet larger and smoothing out any edges that may be present from the casting out side of the landings where the butterflys seat. It will make a slightly smoother airflow with less turbulence.
