Just for the record, these MT's will fit on a 17x9 rim right?

I found a set out late model SVT Cobra rims that are that size..

Anything else I should consider doing prior to the big event?

My spark plugs are gapped at .032 and though it runs/pulls fine, I notice that my idle isn't all that steady. I was thinking about pulling them and re-gapping them to .035.

I have the Brisk Racing one step colder plugs.

My auto trans just got a flush and service, I also changed out the supercharger oil as well as the engine oil/filter. I also did my Brakes not too long ago.

Dont worry about your "steady" idle. My car sounds like it misses at idle but it isn't. Really strange thing these cars with blowers do.

I put those tires we were talking about on a stock 17x8 wheel.

Leave your plugs alone. Spark blow out it something people think they have, but really it's not. You can pull and check them, but I bet they are fine. Look for the tea colored staining in the porcelain.

Ditto on that. I don't hear a miss but I get a slight "shake" intermittently at idle. Been that way since the blower went on there and I've changed the plugs once since then. No change. Car runs fine otherwise and if something were really wrong it would've gone boom by now.

lol and I thought it was that bottle of Lucas Octane Booster I used last month rofl

Any reason to go with the 17x8 over the 17x9?

I found a great deal on the 17x9 rims locally..

The 17 X 9's will make the car a little steadier up around/above 100 mph at any given tire pressure. Low pressures and narrow rims can get a bit squirrely sometimes.

The MT bias ply stick like crazy. I follow tx zstangs advice. 2nd gear burnout, 4 to 5 seconds at 40-50 mphs, then stage. Put in drive, TC off, o/d off (very important) I rev motor just slightly, about 1200 or so, then floor it at green. I tried a low tire pressure and it sucked, tires bogged and top end got way too floaty. I run 28-30 psi. I get very little to no tire spin off the line, scratch into second. I was told you want to run the highest tire psi where you have very little or no spin off the line. Hard tires runs faster on the top end. My times are very consistent and buying these tires was the best mod I have purchased for the track. Street tires with FI is downright scary and quite unsafe.
