Default can you fit a surfboard in an '05 gt?????

thinking about buying a 2005 gt coupe deluxe. i surf everyday and want to know if a 6'3" surfboard will fit in the trunk with the back seats down. i previously owned an explorer and don't know anyone with a stang.

Hmm, I don't surf but I do know that the seats in the 05+ mustang do fold down and open into the trunk so you could maybe wedge something less than 5ft in there?

I might be off, but I doubt a 6 foot board would be able to fit anywhere inside the car, but perhaps on the roof? I'm sure you could find a good roof mount for it somewhere.

Haha awesome. Glad I'm not the only one who though of this :thumbsup

I slide front seat all the way forward, lay all the way back, and drop the back seats and am able to fit my 6'2 x 2 1/4 x 19 1/8 in with some wiggling. Lenth should be okay, width will be the kicker. If you get creative with your thinking it can be done!

Before you go riding around with your board note that the wax will liquify in any kind of heat and drip in to the pores of leather seats. The 'stang will heat up quicker than that explorer unless you have some heavy tint, and I imagine clot would be a nightmare. I keep a full size towel inside at all times after having made that mistake first hand!

I do it all the time. The boards I have range from 6'1" to 6'3". I just put the back seats down and it will fit like a glove. You do have to put in at an angle. Example: tip of the board is on the back passenger side arm rest and the tail is next to the drivers side tail lights.

I'll remember to take one for ya tomorrow (gotta do some work on the car anyway). I don't have a board, but I'll try using a tape measure to help you visualize/affirm the space in there.

You can actually cram quite a bit into the mustang. Just put down the back and front seat and fit it in diagonally.

Sheesh nuke! Patience lol.

OP I got some, but sorry about the quality- they're cell pics... And a good angle is really hard to get to show you how much total space there is. The pics you see don't really show how much space the trunk really has.

Hope these help...

So I have to ask... Can you close the trunk once you get it in and set correctly in the cabin? Looks like it.
