Do I have a trans. problem?
I just picked up an 08 GT/CS with 32k miles. (5 speed) To my knowledge the trans. fluid has never been changed.
Have patience with me as this is my first 5 spd and I'm not mechanically inclined.
Since buying the car 3 weeks ago, I've noticed a bit of a hitch in the transition from 1st to 2nd. Any other shift is super smooth. When shifting 1-2, I feel a bit of resistance there that has me worried. When doing this at ~2k rpm's, I can hear something in the rear seem to "click into place".
With the car off, I've noticed that the 2nd gear seems to be ever so slightly angled to the right and that there are wear marks on the leather shift bezel that seem to occur when trying to pull the shifter straight down from 1st gear. To make shifts smooth as possible, I nearly have to act like a have a catch in my wrist and pull down and at a slight angle to go into 2nd without fighting the shifter.
With that said, once engaged, it never pops back out of 2nd gear and it never grinds. Since all of this occurs before ever taking the clutch off the floorboard, I'm not jerking the car around during the shift.
So..
Any ideas?
