Worked like a charm! $66 was a hell lot cheaper than what Ford would charge to change the plugs. Also keep in mind Ford charges for the change ONLY. If they break a plug, it's not their fault and they will charge more.

+1 on all that except for the breaking part.

I changed my plugs a few years back at 10K miles without any problems and swapped in the Champion one piece plug (7989). I have removed a couple of random plugs at various mileages to see if there are any problems since then...nope, zero and I have a little over 55K now on the car (45K on the plugs). Piece of mind = priceless.

Local dealer here is LA quoted me $800 + $50 per broken plug. Did it myself with carb cleaner in 4 hours, no broken plugs. Replaced with the champions which ran fine.

Warranty issue came up and the dealer made me put the ford plugs and old coils back in....

I have changed the plugs in 4 different cars now with a wide range of miles on them and never have broken a one. I have followed the advice from a mechanic who has done countless plugs on the F150 Trition engines without a broken one...engine at RUNNING TEMP!
using Seafoam Deep Creep to soak them and work the plugs slowly back and forth not going over 28 lbs torque.

I changed my 07 with 36,000 miles on it. No breakage thankfully. I used PB Blaster overnight and then used a torque wrench set at 30 and eased them out (back and forth). Like others put in Champions which work just fine. The Stealership here in Calgary, Canada said $500 if none broke and up to $1200 if they all broke. The sooner you do it the better IMO. I'm glad I did. Mine is not the daily driver so I didn't have the Broken Spark Plug Removal tool on hand but could have bought it in 5 minutes if I needed it.

I'd change 'em out for one piece plugs. With only 8K miles should be a piece of cake and then you won't have to worry about this little problem built in by FOMOCO. That's just me.

I feared doing the plugs in my 06 with 60K. Read that using a 3/8 impact with the engine warm works. Goes against everything I learn growing up...but it worked like a charm. Didn't break any of them. Did the plugs in under an hour.

It it is out of warranty "go for it!". I just had my whole engine replaced by the steelership, picked it up last night. Received a major lecture for having aftermarket plugs in my car. They said they "could" have voided my warranty. Not quite sure how unless they came apart and caused damage. But you know hot to tell when they are lying!

NO! NEVER tell people to remove sparkplugs from a warm aluminum head with an impact wrench! No, No, NO!!!! You spread butter on bread with a sledge hammer? It's possible but highly stupid.

You're probably the same guy that said the exact same thing last summer.
