Default Need some recommendations..

Hi all, I need some recommendation on a few things. I've had my 'Stang for only about 4 months or so and I've begun to notice something that's bugging me quite a bit. Right along the side panels and back to where the rear tires are, there are black specks/chunks stuck the body. I assume it's either rubber from the tires or from the road surface that gets thrown up and "glued" to the body of my Mustang. The intense heat where I live probably doesn't help either, as this stuff also does not come off by using a pressure washer.

What's the best way to get this stuff off without damaging my paint or scratching it? Also, my wheels are starting to get "stained" black..any suggestions on some good, reputable brand wheel shiner?

If its the same stuff I get on mine its just tar, I just took a microfiber sponge to it when I was washing my car scrubbed and it came out fine.

High Pressure wash to start. Without that you may very well scratch your surface.
If you can feel bumps or see dirt after that, I would probably spray bug/tar remover.
Then gently rub with a soapy sponge.
Rinse sponge in a separate bucket of water from you suds. Have a grate to rub sponge against to remove particles from sponge then wash again.
Rinse again and if you still have crap on the car, use a clay bar and gently rub the surface after you have wetted it with a lubricant.
Should be smooth as a babies butt, then seal and wax.

Goof-Off, Goo-b-gone, WD-40, kerosene all of these will dissolve the tar and not damage the paint.

WD40 is your friend. I apply it before I race to keep the rubber from sticking. Then use it to get off what ended up sticking!! LOL
