Default CAMS and emssions?

How many of you guys are passing IM tests without problems with your cams?

Either hot rods or comps?

I have an IM test coming up in March of 2012, but they may be doing away with the IM tests altogether up here (whoo hoo!)

I was thinking about waiting it out and then getting cams once they get rid of the tests in mid 2012.

I'll eventually get an R2300 down the line, but cams are gonna be one of my next mods

Thought about going crazy and getting LT's, O/R h pipe as well.. but if they bring the tests back, I'd be screwed~

I've had problems with my Hot Rods. It took me about 4 tunes with 2 different tuners to pass. I got 3 tunes from one tuner (well known on this site) when I was N/A'ed and continued to get O2 sensors/catalyst not ready after driving as much 600 miles between their tunes. Installed the Whipple, got a Jon Lund custom tune with it, and the car passed. After a few months of riding that tune, it threw a few O2 efficiency codes, but they've cleared.

My registration is due and I'm going to register my car in one of the Parishes (county) that doesn't require emissions testing. I don't want to go through that again!

I've heard some really good stuff about the product called "Guaranteed to Pass"

http://www.amazon.com/CRC-05063-Guar.../dp/B000CIPUR8

If you are failing because it's throwing codes then that would be a different issue but if you are having issues because of the actual emissions the car is putting out this should get you to pass

Thanks for the link.. I honestly do not know why it wouldn't pass other than because of the cams. I have cut outs as well.

My cams were custom designed to be moderately emissions compatible as well as somewhat aggressive. No problems with inspections.

I hear we are getting rid of ours mid 2012, and mine isn't due til March 2012... I may just wait it out. I just hope they don't bring it back though lol

Been putting cams on the back burner for so long.. it's about time!
