I would pass on the killer chilled and get a 160 degree thermostat instead. And a bigger IC reservoir.

Neither of which does anything for IATs. Well the bigger reservoir might for a few minutes but once hot it is hot and your just carrying around more hot water.

The reason why 160s are put in is because motors will run cooler and not heat up as fast since coolant flows sooner. Eventually, the temps end up being the same. The benifit is designed to help prevent detonation, which is a combo of timing, heat, fuel and boost. My motor coolant temps under normal driving is around 182. Others with a standard thermostat is 195-200. There lower temperature let's more timing or boost be used, or setting the threshold of where timing is going to pulled a little higher.

And yes, a bigger resevoir will heat up and be hot, but when you go through some gears and keep reusing the same water you just ran through your intercooler, heat exchanger and the tiny little tank, IATs go crazy high.

I'm probably running a bit more demand than many but I ended up going straight to E85 and added a 100 dry shot for the track passes to get the IAT's down. Had to go to 2000cc Injectors and I've maxed my A1000 fuel pump at 90 psi where we are running out of fuel again./ We had a problem with Meth and the Whipple, seemed to need to be direct injected into the manifold. That is what pushed us to E85, plus the E85 won't run out. Just my opinion.

Yeah, I was more interested in the Killer Chiller feedback than anything else.. as I already know about the other cooling mods. I know it's a fine line between running too much boost on the stock motor, but you can't help but ask lol

I can pull the motor for a forged one and all, but it is a lot of work.. I actually don't mind that part... it's the gaskets and extra parts that's a doozy(cost wise)... the rest, I can do for fun lol

One thing to keep in mind with the killer chiller. If you ever take the car to the drag strip, it will drip condensation all over the track and when track officials notice it, you will get booted.

That's another thing I was wondering about ^^

From what I hear, the AFCO dual fan heat exchanger works very well so that should keep things very cool. I still may get the larger radiator and 180 thermostat for overall cooling purposes.

I would try the AFCO with the dual fans first. Then go from there. I may do that this summer too. It gets a little hotter here than up there though.

I have the dual fan exchanger and thus far I have seen my temps stay cooler

Meth injection will cool and increase octane...get the 160 degree thermostat...came with the Whipple kit!
