Default Paxton, Vortech or Procharger?

Hey Guys,

After postponing this for almost 2 years now ive decided to go with one of the "cheaper" superchargers, rather than Saleen, Whipple or Edelbrock.

Its between the Paxton Novi, Vortech and Procharger.
The car is my daily driver, my goal is for atleast 400whp. Preferably somewhere around 430.
It needs to be reliable and not to hard on the tranny (which is an automatic).

Ive been looking at the kits on brenspeed.com and lethalperformance.com .
Also which supporting mods would you advise? lower controls arms are already ordered.
Do i need to upgrade the uppers aswell? thermostat, radiator, alternator?

Vortech owns Paxton so you'll get almost the same thing with either of the two.
Procharger is OK but when it comes to Centri blowers, people prefer the Vortech unit.

My paxton NOVI 2200 broke my transmission after 8000 mi. so don't get too confident that your transmission will hold as much. My car was putting down 440rwhp when it happened.

Happy, and no issues with my Vortech. Going on almost two years as a daily driver.

Thats what i'm hoping for also, a few peaceful years before i have to cough up more dough.
How much rwhp are you putting down? Also which kit did you order and where from?

Not sure about the rwhp numbers, hoping to get it dynoed this spring. I went with the Vortech V3-HO package from Brenspeed, had them install it as well. Couldn't be happier!

The Paxton is a beast, and the 2200sl should put you at those numbers no problem. The only suspension Ive done is LCAs and it just shreds my 285 Nitto 555s into 4th gear.
Dont choose a supercharger because its a little bit cheaper, save and get the one you really want.

The stock thermostat is find, as is the radiator, traction will be the problem I have 275/40's on the rear and they chirp when shifting into 4th gear at 80 mph. This was when I was at 450 rwhp. A PA deep dish trans. pan would be a good investment.

I think the procharger is more efficient, but you will pay for it. Vortech and Paxton are essentially the same, its just a matter of how pretty you want it to look.
