Can't blame you for having them do the work. That job is a pita on a garage floor.
As for #1 why didn't you just use the set screw "valet" switch on the KB?
I was not for sure if the motor would need to be tilted or lowered and I did not want them to do it and then damage something. Turns out I didn't need to, but they still damaged stuff.
I would have and I did check on the car several times, but I had some bad stuff happen at work so I had to work instead of playing.
I did talk with the tech and he seemed a little surprised that I knew as much as I did.
Strange - they forced me to sit in the showroom for an hour when I went in just to have a spare key made...
I really don't like dealing with the front desk Ford guys. They always get this arrogant look when I come in - not like the guys at the Ford Racing speed shop in the very back. They're always friendly and more than happy to let me watch them put an engine in a Cobrajet or restoration car.

I've told more than one shop to take my car off the lift after they told me I couldn't be in the shop. But when I DO take my car to the shop (which is rare to begin with), I'll have my work boots on and a pair of my safety glasses handy. They've tried to use the "you don't have the proper personal protective equipment" line on me before. If they want my $$, they let me in the shop. BS to the "we can't because of insurance" crap, too
