Default Install problem with underdrive pulley

I just got the steeda ones in the mail from AM (much love for AM) and I was just beginning the install but I'm having a hell of a time getting the stock crank pulley bolt off. I've got an automatic so I was using an impact wrench set at the max on my neighbors little garage compressor which was 120 psi. Is that not enough?

I feel like it doesn't even come close to breaking it free. I feel pretty defeated. If I use a compressor at 140 or 150 psi would there be a chance at damaging the bolt? I figure I'm going to replace the bolt anyway because I'm at 46k miles and i like peace of mind. I'm just worried about breaking the head off. (unless I'm stupid and that's impossible) but the whole thing did a great job at flash rusting and I'm worried about its integrity.

any tips would be appreciated I'm young but capable of doing this myself as long as the head doesn't break off on me.

Also will said impact wrench be able to turn the new bolt on sufficiently without someone holding the torque converter?

Newb questions from a newbie but this seemed like the best place to ask.

If you haven't done so, read this install thread from this forum.
https://mustangforums.com/forum/2005...with-pics.html

Note, he has his impact gun set to max pressure at 140 psi. He does have a manual trans, as do I, but there are tips that may help you along in this tutorial.
this next line is from the tutorial.
Note: (per Steeda) On Automatic transmission cars, prevent the engine from turning by holding the torque converter. Access the torque converter by removing a plug towards the front Drivers side of the transmission. Hold the torque converter from turning with a 14mm wrench.
If you aren't 100% positive on doing this on your own, stop, and take it to someone who knows what they are doing. Know your limits. I didn't mess around, I'm lucky I know someone with the knowledge and the correct tools for the job

I know how to hold the torque converter but i don't work well with others and Most friends are not as mechanically inclined as I would like. it would be nice to not have to rely on others to hold any more than a flashlight. But I guess I'll need to learn me some patience.

Thanks for the concern though and I hadn't noticed taco bill was at 140 so that gives a bit more confidence

Raise the pressure as high as possible, It wont break the bolt. You may need to get a more powerful impact if you haven't got it off yet.

Thanks. That was my only setback, going to use the shop's now and this one goes much higher and the impact wrench here isn't 20 years old. Just need a free weekend now
