Default What computer code does my 08 mustang use

Hey guys, I had an idea floating around. Im curious what you guys think. I have schooling in electronics engineering with software experience. I know i can pull values from the computer on the car and with the connectors available I could write a program that would display items such as RPM, Speed, ETC.

However I was planning on going much more in depth to assist people in testing new parts. Basically you would stop your car (on your custom drag track) and hit the start button. Then you would run a 1/4 mile. It would start as recording as soon as your car starts rolling and would know to stop when you reach 1/4mile. It would graph your distance vs speed so you would know exactly what areas you were faster or slower. It could also include stuff like shift points and anything else that runs through the computer.

What do you guys think of this? I could build these pretty reasonably cheap. I could make it so its computer that runs on your laptop, or it could come in an all in one gps type package. Have you seen anyone do this before?

It;s called data logging, most hand held tuners do this already. The new SCT iTSX does this very well.
