My '07 GT vert recently developed this strange interior sound you hear every time the car accelerates and decelerates (any speed, at hwy speeds or just backing out of garage, or even the slightest stop/go like when in bumper-to-bumper slow moving traffic). It is hard to pinpoint exactly where but sounds like its coming from underneath center console drink holders area or possibly under center storage compartment. If I had to describe it I would say it sounds like a weighted marble rolling on a short 4" track and then hitting a plastic edge where it bounces to a stop (creating a tick, tick, tick sound). Same sound whether I'm going or stopping and DOESN'T STOP and its really driving me crazy. At first I thought it was a coin that fell in the slot by the emergency break but it doesn't appear to be just a gravity fed motion since its the same sound if I make the slightest forward or stopping motion, almost like its on a spring, etc.
Please let me know what you think it might be and how I can stop it.

Sounds as if you'll need someone in the passenger and rear seats to help you track this down. Once you pinpoint the location, you'll have a much better chance at locating the culprit. I haven't heard anyone describe that type of issue before.

Take the center console cover out and then go for a drive and see where it is coming from. It is a easy removal.
