Default I'm gonna buy Flowmaster Exhaust

I'm thinking about buying this exhaust:

Flowmaster Outlaw Series Axle-Back Exhaust

It's $400.00 from American Muscle

http://www.americanmuscle.com/flowma...ck-0510gt.html

It sounds pretty good and should give me couple extra hp.

A) You'll never notice, if you get any, the HP from an axle back

B) Any reason on the flowmaster instead of the other muffler deletes?

The pypes bombs are $100 cheaper, the SLP's are $50 cheaper, and the pypes muffler deletes are $250!

Or you could have a local exhaust/muffler shop make you a muffler delete for like $100

Thanks for the tips... I'll have to check out other options. What should I do to get more HP? My stock Mustang has 300HP but I want to increase that. Should I install a turbo kit? I ordered a CAI for now just to get more air in. Maybe the next step will be to replace the entire exhaust...headers, pipe, and mufflers (or resonators). Let me know what you guys think.

These sound pretty good too...

Are "muffler-deletes" legal? It probably won't pass inspection, right?

Best starting mod would be a cold air intake and tune.

Can I use my MacBook or Ipad to tune the car? (If I buy an interface cable to the ECU) I know that my brother-in-law used his laptop to do some tuning. Or do I have to buy that BAMA tuner thing... sorry for all the noob questions.. I work on cars sometimes (just basic stuff) but I never really did any performance upgrades on the Stang. Although I did install CAI on my Ford Escort ZX2 and it also had a NOS bottle with a throttle body NOS jet. (but I don't have that car anymore) So anyway... the CAI for the Stang should be here on Friday.... yay!!!!

The Outlaw is definitely a great Axle back exhaust system! I'm confident you'll be extremely happy with this set up. Like listed above Flowmaster, Pypes Bomb, SLP etc.. are all great Axle backs!

Let me know if I can be of any assistance or if you have any questions! Also, we do have a 6% Mustang Forums exclusive discount for all active posting members! If you don't already have it, shoot me a PM and I'll hook you up.

Our Mustang Experts are here Monday-Friday from 9AM-9PM EST and Saturdays from 9AM-5:30PM EST. If you want to hit them up, their number is 866.727.1266. I can also have one of them call you directly.

Just get some form of FI right off the bat if you're looking for power. Muffler deletes will pass inspection no problem.

The software that will let you fiddle around with the ECU is $800, and if you're just getting your foot in the door let somebody else do the tuning.

Grab an SCT and call it a day.

I've always heard the flowmasters drone a whole bunch! There are plenty of other exhaust systems cheaper anyways.. Sounds like your new to these mustangs give Brenspeed or American muscle a call and have them help out with the right direction to go with the ammount of money your willing to spend. There is alot of people here to help to, there are tons of threads on mods and recommendations

What is "FI"?

What is "SCT"?

I'll probably get the $250 muffler deletes. I'm trying to save some money. We just had a son so I don't have much to spend on the car. I was just playing this csr (custom street racing) game on my phone and got motivated to get some extra HP for my Mustang. I know it sounds lame, but I like those cars and wish had tons of money to blow on all types of mods and upgrades.

FI = "forced induction" (superchargers & turbos)
SCT = a brand of tuner, pretty much the standard for the current mustangs.

You will need a tuning device in addition to your PC (oh, you have an apple, that should work, but I'm not sure if it's compatible), you connect the tuning device with a USB cable to your computer and load the mail-order tune(s) to the device, then you use the OBD2 cable from the tuning device to your car to upload the tune to your car. SCT also has a bluetooth adapter (iTSX) that lets you tune from an android or apple IOS device via an app.
