Default Power steering issue

I did a few donuts in a parking lot with my 06 gt and parked my car. When I turned it on 15 minutes later to leave, I noticed my power steering was half working. Here's what I mean.

At idle, there is no power steering. If you press the gas and raise the rpms, then it comes back and as the rpms drop back to idle, it slowly goes away again. When I turn the wheel, I do hear a little noise. there were no leaks or broken parts on the floor. What could this be?

Fluid level ok?
Maybe the belt stretched?

Can't be the belt, everything else running off the belt works fine. My fluid is just slightly under the MIN mark so idk if that's the problem, but I will add some.

I followed some piping that runs off the PS fluid container. Towards the left of the engine bay (almost by the battery) was a pipe with a cap on it which branched off the line I followed. I opened the cap while the car was off and it seemed like pressure came out of there (inside was a valve). After that it began to and currently works fine again so maybe there was just air in the line?

im gonna venture a guess that you had the steering wheel at full lock doing the donuts.

FYI holding the wheel at full lock for more than a few seconds can damage the power steering. probably need a new pump.

The steering wheel wasnt locked for more than even half a second. But how so? I didn't know that.

its in the manual. but i think the general idea is that at full lock pressure continues to build in the pump until failure.

i still suspect your pump.

different vehicle, similar situation toyours. the "fix" is a few posts down. which was basically replacing the pump and flushing the system.
