charge motion delete plates
ive been looking at purchasing some of these for my 05 gt. is it to much of a PITA to remove the butterfly/shaft assembly from the originals and plug holes with something? or should I spend the money so in case in the future I want to put the car back to stockish to sell? first thing I got was a used sct 3015 programmer and ive got it updated and a 93 octane tune on my car so far. im waiting for my CAI. to save 300 bucks I wouldn't mind spending a weekend hacking up the originals if the outcome would be the same. just a thought. new to this forum as I just purchased my 05 gt and sold my 93 lx 2.3. (was a member of that forum for quite a while.) any input/thoughts would be appreciated

Do a search on this topic, I literally was looking at threads about this today. I believe some people on here have hacked it off and done a DIY job. From what I gathered reading about this today is that benefits are essentially insignificant and there is a chance of losing a little low end power to gain a little high end power.

yeah, that's what ive read as well. seems to apply to the steeda plates to (loosing low end torque). my eyes are crosseyed from all the things ive read on this and other forums. from exhaust to all of tacobills posts. I haven't found any on using the stock plates and removing the flaps and shafts. thanks for the speedy reply, bout to dive back in the research.

been doin more research and seems that steeda plates as well with originals gutted all resulted in low end power/torque loss. all the steeda plates ive seen for sale also come with nitrous bungs drilled and tapped. im not going to use nitrous. this seems to pose the same problem as gutting the original plates as there will be unneeded holes that need plugged/sealed. I was thinking.... what if I just removed 2 flaps from each side of oem plates, say 1 and 5 and 4 and 8? would that help the low end power/torque problem? I wouldn't have to plug any unused holes and I wouldn't have to use the plate delete option on my sct. anyone see any problems or codes that this could cause? the 1,5 and 4,8 flaps are just for reference, could do 1,7 and 2,6 ect. thoughts??

CMDP from a mod standpoint are a pass for me. Unless you have upgraded cams that would counter the low end tq loss, the top end gains are too minimal for me to consider the mod.
Plus, you need a tune to reflect the removal of the plates.

I appreciate your response. seems like the CMDP mod is like the addition of a trunk release button. some very pro and some very con. (definitely not trying to start a this vs that thread) I was just thinking of removing 2 flaps on each bank and not using the CMDP delete tune.
