The factory chrome tips on my '07 GT takeoffs that are on my wife's '06 Pony aren't rusting and the chrome tips on the Borla Stingers on my GT that I installed in August 2007 aren't rusting so I'd say go back to the shop where you bought them and freak out, but in a civilized manor.

The stock mufflers with chrome tips, Mac's with chrome tips, and current Bassani with chrome tips aren't rusting and I've run them all for tens of thousands of miles. I'm thinking you got a subgrade thin chrome tip which blued without you seeing it and then rusted. Go back to the shop!

I've had chrome (or maybe SS) tips on my Corsa system for nearly 8 years and not a hint of rust.
