Default Console Hot

08 GT 193,000 miles. Had a few cool days here in Florida and have been riding around with the windows open. Normally, windows closed and a/c on. The other day I felt heat from the dash/console area, and found the console around the auto shift **** surprisingly hot. I guess I never realized it with the a/c running. Everything seems fine. Normal?

On my '13, the console got hot when I hadn't reinstalled the shifter boot properly. Maybe yours has come loose or developed a crack or tear. Just a thought.

It's normal. That heat from the trans coming up through the shifter hole in the floor.

Now that I'm paying attention to it, I notice it only happens once in while. And I do all highway driving.

Turn off the heater, find an open stretch of road on a cool day and let er rip. The heat given off by the engine and transmission will definitely keep you nice and toasty while it travels to you from the ac ducts.

It's normal. Many people have talked about this issue over the years. The cup holders get warm as well and the shifter (aftermarket like a roush or hurst) I do notice it doesn't happen IF the AC is on haha.
