Default Roush M90 intercooler

Hey guys, I have an automatic 06 GT with the Roush M90 supercharger. I was wondering if I can swap out the included intercooler with something better or if the one that comes with it is all I really need. I was also wondering if I can install the snow performance boost cooler with the intercooler or if it's one or the other, the engine bay gets pretty hot, fairly quick and I'm looking for as many ways to keep it cool as possible.

the heat exchanger, or the intercooler that is in side the blower? the heat exchanger/radiator at the front of the car could always be changed for a larger unit, but the internal intercooler that is in the blower cant really be changed for a larger piece. i installed 2 electric fans on my heat exchanger, and wired them to run with the ignition on, just like the coolant pump for the intercooler, this helps mitigate heat soak at low speeds and in traffic. a boost cooler can be added to any FI system and is used with the intercooler. that will prob be my next upgrade, the boost cooler will help lower your IAT on days when the ambient air temp is hot enough to cause the tune to pull timing.

Sorry I meant the heat exchanger, but thank you for the quick reply. One more question, on Americanmuscle.com it says the M90 comes with an air to water kit, but all of their mishimoto heat exchangers says air to air. Would I have to change anything to install one of those or can I just hook it up to the the existing hoses/pipes?

the air to ait heat exchangers that you see are for centri and turbo setups. they will not work for your application. in those the air is compressed remotley from the intake and then the air itself is passed through the heat exchanger. a blower (compressor built into the intake manifold) uses an air to liquid heat exchanger. i would stay with your heat exchanger, install some dedicated heat exchanger fans, and then install your boost cooler. the m90 is not a very efficient compressor, so if you are looking for more power, an upgrade to a Kenne Bell, or Whipple Twin screw would net you more power.

I swapped the stock heat exchanger for an Afco dual fan unit. OMG best decision ever. That mod alone got me 4 tenths at the track. I had no idea how heat soaked my setup was. Car runs super fast and consistent at the track now.

Thank 808muscle, I've been really trying to manage the crazy amount of heat that the m90 puts out. I'll have to get that mod next
