Cam position sensor code

Default Cam position sensor code

Pulled a p0434 which is camshaft position sensor
And so I changed it and erased the codes. Now
The code is back and im getting abysmal gas
Mileage any ideas? Car is an 01 mustang gt

p0434 is an o2 sensor code (P0434 - Heated Catalyst Temperature Below Threshold Bank 2) i will assume you mean p0340

my p0340 was caused by a bad alternator voltage regulator/diode. this caused radio frequency interference that disrupted the cam sensor signal. i rebuilt my alternator and problem was solved. you could try having a parts store run a test on the alternator to see if it is good or not.
