Default PA Performance alternators 130 amp

Are these things pretty reliable? Some mixed reviews but mostly good with some people saying that they'll melt within a few months lol

Well what the hell... battery voltage is at 15.8/16.0 so it's seems ok. No flickering or weird idle issues. I did get the P0340 cam shaft sensor code but it was right after installing a 91 octane tune (running 90 gas) and it was on acceleration and letting off the throttle when I got that code so....
I'll check again in a couple days or sooner. Leaving in July for three weeks so it'll just sit around anyways..

I put one on my car sometime ago and I haven't had any issues. I recently installed that high torque mini starter. Starts the car much easier. Less noise and its unique.

That's great to hear. High torque mini starter? I gotta look into one too!

Anything to keep her alive and running. I'll have to change out the spark plugs this winter too, which will be fun. I'll keep the Lisle tool handy lol

That voltage is too high and sooner or later it'll damage the battery. Looks like your alternator has a faulty voltage regulator.

Charge voltage should be no more than 14.4, no less than 13.7, with a test
meter at the battery terminals.

At 15.8+, not only will it eventually ruin the battery, your lights will
burn out quicker, but, will be brighter.

Thank you for the info. What's up with the 2010 alternator? much needed upgrade?

Just confirmed mine has a bad diode via hand held scanner.

I already ordered an American Muscle PA high performance 200amp alternator.

Crosses fingers.
