Auto wont get gears
#2
Not much to go on. What do you mean it "didn't get gears". Engine is running, in gear, but no movement? Could be transmission, drive shaft, or rear end. 470HP out of a 4.6 means the engine has been built (although you don't give a torque spec). What was done to the drivetrain to take the added power. If the rest of the drivetrain is stock, then likely something broke - the stock drivetrain won't handle big power.

yeah, not really enough information.
Will the car not move at all now? Engine starts and runs but putting it into D or any other gear, it won't engage? Could be an input shaft or Trans pump. Input shaft is the splined shaft between the engine and the trans pump/torque converter that transfers power between the engine and trans.
If the input shaft blows, the car will start and run fine but you won't go anywhere. I blew one out last year on my 08 GT... If its the trans pump, I believe you will still be able to engage gears and actually move the car by idling in 1st.

If the trans pump takes a dump, you're not going anywhere. The effect is the same as the trans being very low on fluid i.e. insufficient line pressure to engage gears.

Even if you manually select 1st? I guess that would be correct since the channels in the valve body would only be opened, no fluid would be flowing though....
