Default Do I have an original engine?

The engine in my car has 8 spark plugs. Not sure if this is the original engine, since my actual car is really beat up, the stang is reef blue - a 1993 color, and the engine has only 218,xxx km. I did some google-ing, and apparently this engine is only for 1990-93. Is this true? What kind of engine would have been in my car?

It should've had the 4 plug head. I once owned an '87 lx 4 cylinder and it had the 4 plug head. So somebody put the 8 plug head on it sometime before you got it. 1991 through 1993 four cylinders got the 8 plug head.

Er... Hate to be rude, but if you have a 1993 engine and a 1993 color, are you sure you have a 1987 car?

That's what I was thinking... but it was done properly, since the engine bays, trunk, and inside the doors are all painted. You can also see a bit of red on the front bumper inside the grill, so maybe originally a red 1987?
