Default Thunderbird turbo coupe

I was driving down the road past a local garage and theres a 1988 ford thunderbird turbo coupe with 131,000 miles on it. stick shift.. body is in overall good condition except a few patchy rust spots like on any old car, interior needs some help though, door seals went and messed up seats.
But from what i understand and have heard the engine mounts are the same for the 2.3L mustang and tbird right?
id like to get it and drop that engine in it once the other 4 banger goes, basically keep to work on later on. the man at the garge said that he would go for 600 bucks and no lower, would it be work the hassle?

why rip apart a relatively rare car for a 4 banger stang?

I know people that have searched for an 87-88 Turbo Coupe for years, myself included, to find multiple threads about people taking them, ripping them apart, and junking them for a mustang swap.

honestly, the later turbocoupes have so many sick *** options, i agree that it seems ridiculous to tear one apart for a postang just cause it has so many features that you cant incorporate into the stang. BUTTTTTTTTTTT 600 for an 88 turbocoupe is a steal...and if you dont want a turbocoupe...it's your call

89 would be a super coupe, they switched to a supercharged 3.8 v6 instead of the turbo coupe's turbo 2.3 i4

They dont so much have electrical problems, they just get issues like any older car, with a relay going back here or there, and things like that. Ive bypassed the original fan circuits and relays and used my own, which solved that problem, and the brake relays have already been replaced. No problems since.

i didnt even know that they were very rare, just figured since i tend to see a bunch of them around where i live (boonies) but yeah.
incase anyone was wondering i got it for 450, i traded the man my old pioneer headunit and two 6.5 speakers and he dropped it to 450 for me.
