isn't there another exhaust howsing that you could put on the HX35 to make it spool at a lower rpm, while keeping the large compression howsing?
Yes, thats with the small housing (8 or 12 CM I believe its called)

sweet.

i'm actually thinking about using a john deere turbo keeping around 5psi boost max for the celebrity.... i might get it to 200 hp with that... i'm at 160 now (figuring if it was brand new... lets go with that number)

installing one will help, but with a smaller turbo or small intake tubine area before the tb it doesn't need it as much, either way it will still help with turbo bearing life & keep the compressor spinning at higher speeds during shifts (like i said though won't help much there since smaller turbos get back up to speed fast)
I would install one just for the bearing life alone though. Using a bypass valve instead will keep from venting off metered air or you could convert to a blow through setup, but due to warmer intake temps the air volume is going to be less dense. I'm not sure how well the vane type meters work as far as altering a/f ratios. I've only had experience on two cars with them. My first car that i built a twin turbo kit for used one, but I didn't really get into tuning it all that much & it did run a little rich.

Holset HY35 turbos are a bit smaller than the HX35. (if you don't want anything as big as a HX35)

The HY35 has a 9cm exhaust housing, the HX35 has a 12cm-18cm.

The hx35 spins later, but ony 200rpmish and it has a better efficentcy map
