Default Setting the timing/ checking it

i got my old 88 2.3 auto stang sitting around and i suspect the timing is off, how do ya check the timing on these 4 bangers / set if timings off

you have to get a timing light and hook it up to the battery, and to the 1st plug wire. make a mark at TDC on the crank, and start it up.. see what it reads at, it should be at 10* BTDC
