Post EGR

After all these months I finally need some help on my car. My vavle cover gasket went out so I went ahead and changed it. While I was at it I put in the ranger header. I put a bolt in the EGR hole in the manifold and plugged the metal hose going to the EGR valve. However, my car sputters when I accelerate only. It idles fine without a hickup. I unplugged the egr valve thinking the computer is taking into account exhaust gasses that arent going in the engine therefore making it run lean. What is the proper way to eliminate the EGR system on these cars?
Thanks,

Unplug it and leave it that way. Same thing on turbo cars. Although on my NA i never deleted the egr i blew the motor and swapped for a turbo.

I've left the EGR sensor unplugged since the last post. But... it still sputters like a **** when accelerating. Trying to figure out how to fix it before i give up and put the old cast iron manifold back on.

You can have a shop weld on the proper bunghole to fit the egr. the you can connect everything like its supposed to be.
