Slight RPM Fluctuations on Steady Throttle – 2021 Mustang High Performance (10-Speed
Hey everyone,
I own a 2021 Mustang High Performance with the 10-speed automatic transmission, and I’ve noticed something a bit odd lately. When I hold the throttle steady — for example, cruising at a constant speed — the tachometer shows some very small, almost imperceptible spikes upward.
It’s not a big jump, just a tiny flicker on the RPM gauge, like it briefly rises a few hundred revs and then settles again, even though my foot stays perfectly steady on the pedal. The car drives fine otherwise — no jerking, no slipping, and the shifts feel smooth.
Has anyone else experienced this? Could it just be a normal fluctuation in the torque converter lock-up, or something with the transmission tuning?
Any insight would be appreciated!
