Default GAS TANK (88 5.0)

The mini door to get to my gas tank will no longer pop open via the button in my glove compartment. Is there alternate method to open this door??

Usually there is a cable/mechanical release in the trunk/hatch area.

Some models have two buttons. One is Yellow, The other is orange. The yellow button pops the Hatch or the trunk. The Orange button pops the fuel door. Usually the orange button is square and the yellow button is round, at least in my experiences. My 1991 GT only has the hatch pop, but my actual fuel cap has a key lock from factory.

there is a fuel door release cable that is accessible when you remove the spare tire cover board. The cable should be hanging down into the spare tire compartment. On the right rear of the spare tire compartment. Just pull the cable and the door should open.
