is it normal to have to charge the fuel pump 7-10 times before the car starts. by charging i mean opening the switch until you hear the fule pump turn on. also when i do manage to turn the car on, i have to stay on the gas for a few minutes until it doesnt stall.

im not inclined in fuel pumps but that does not sound normal at all. is it at aftermarket unit? mine primes for about 3 seconds, then starts right up, no problems.

there really arent enough variables. does the car stop stalling after it is warmed up? does it do this anytime other that at startup? how does it run after it is warm? is the fuel pump loud(can you hear it inside the car)?

Mine doesnt even prime, Turn the key and it starts. I would get that check out. Prolly some wiring or bad groud, hope its not a pump.

BTW not to steal topic but is it normal for the car to rev up to about 2k RPM and then drop down after about 2 secs?

ya i noticed mine does that sometimes too..... im guessing its ok....?

when it idles its fine and it runs strong also. the only problem is starting the car after it has been turned off for a while.

sounds like your fuel pump is going bad to me
