what color smoke?

blue = oil burn (not good)
white = coolant burn (not good but not as bad as oil burn)

you could also be burning your clutch but you would be able to smell that

check your coolant level

could be simple as a hose leak or your radiator could be cracked

if you don't work on your car take it to a shop

Ok, this might sound funny, but do you smell an almost "sweet" smell? This is kinda like antifreeze.

Got a question for ya. Does it happen only when the engine is hot or when you first start it up?

do a compression check...the guage cost about 25 bucks. disconnect your fuel pump fuse or relay (so the motor won't start when you crank it). pull one spark plug at a time and screw in the guage. it helps to have a friend here crank it over so you can watch for "ticks" on the gauge. count 5 "ticks"or you can just crank it yourself and go look at the guage. all eight cyliders should be around 150psi. that will tell you if you popped a head gasket or burned a ring/pistons. basically it'll clear up the worst case senarios. otherwise it could be an lower intake gasket (coolant) or valve guide seals in the heads (oil)
