6.500"??? That's .250" longer than stock or the ford racing hardened ones. If anything they're too long, but you got me. I'm going to get stud AFR 185s for my 347 and hopefully the stock length will be good enough. I looked on AFR's site and the only thing they said about valve train is if runnig comp cams magnum roller rockers is that you need a longer stud, but nothing about pushrods....

I'd call Edelbrock. I don't know about you but I hated calling companies and such, just wanted to find out what I needed to know through mags and sites, but now have gotten more comfortable calling and getting the RIGHT info faster.

I called Edelbrock they told me stock pushrods are fine but they have to be hardened. The guy I went to to look at my car told me different. He said the pushrods are too short and that I need the 6.500, So I went with what he told me. They have a bunch of mustangs at his shop and he infact has a couple himself. So I hope he knows what hes talking about. Well I ordered them and Im going to have the Guy install them for me, if hes wrong he liable for any money or damage to my car.

BTW quik do you have a pic of what your talking about?

Ahh now I see, I remember the stock one had one, thanks for clearing that up. Do you think that a 6.500 pushrod is too long?

Well I think I do need hardened push rods because of the guide plates. But I already baught the 6.500 Pushrods, and if I get them installed will there be any problems? Will it still work fine?

That can not be answered accuratly. Nobody but you and your mechanic know what the valvetrain geometry looks like. The ones you have now *may* be too short. The ones your getting *may* be right.

i have the 1.90 edelbrock heads on my car w/ 1.77 RR but w/ pedestal mount
i used my stock push rods and no problems, is there really a difference
w/ the stud mounted rockers that would make you need longer push rods?
i didnt think there would be a difference

I think there is a difference in the stud mounted heads and pedestal mount ones, since you can put adjustible rockers on.
