Default Difference in Roller and Non roller motors

I was wondering the years that the roller and non roller 302's cam with- i was also wondering the stock hp rating but it wont matter much after i forge the bottom end with a cam and alot of nitrous
I can only find a non-roller block but it is already a built short block- Speed pro hypereutic pistons, Eagle rods, Molley rings, Bored/honed, and balanced for $1000

P.S.- on a built short block and valve train what kind of RPM can the little 302 handle ??? 7k?

i think im gonna build a forged short block w/ stock heads w/ GT40 valvetrain and a nitrous cam + 150 to 175 shot of nitrous

I would keep looking. If you specifically want a non-roller block, I have one already bored and honed .030 over, drilled and tapped for 1/2" head studs. I also have a stock crank and stock rods with ARP bolts. All for $300 you pay shipping. A set of pistons to match the ones in the short block you are looking at are only $100 bucks or so. Balancing is about $150 or so and you want to make sure it is balanced to your flywheel and harmonic balancer.

but what is the difference between the roller and non roller motors can the non rollers still handle gobs of power like the rollers?

The non-roller block can handle just as much HP as the roller block, most folks would say it can even handle more. The limit on RPM is not based or roller VS non-roller it is due to hydraulic or solid lifters. There is a limit to RPMs before the hydraulics will begin to collapse or grow, either one being bad.
