Fuel Pump?????????

Fuel Pump?????????
Hi fellow 5.0 fanatics,
I have just purchased an 82 Capri with a 92 Lincolin Mark VII 5.0 h.o.
I've just discovered that my Vortech inline fuel pump is dead! I'm not going to shell out that kind of $$$ for a new one, any suggestions on a cheap factory/aftermarket external inline fuel pump?? (In tank is not an option).
I think fuel pressure is 40 psi? and factory pump flow is around 88 l/ph? Should I upgrade to a higher flowing pump? I plan on some lower level up grades but nothing like supercharger etc.
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

RE: In need of some info & advice!!!!!
check your starter solenoid for the cranking issue. its a little black round thing with a couple of wires going to 2 posts on it and one smaller wire going to a small post above the other two. with the key on, take a screwdriver and jump the connection between the small post and the post that has the wire going to the starter. if it starts you need a solenoid, if it doesnt, you probably either need a starter or inspect the cable that goes to it or check power to the small wire. speed density relies on the map sensor (manifold absolute pressure sensor) to run the engine. the map sensor is a black box usually on the firewall that will have a vacuum line running to it and an electrical connection. there is no mass air meter on a speed density car.
