Default so its on......

my buddy and i are both doing up vehicles. He's got a 98chevy half ton that he says he's makin fast, and i got my 84 gt 5.0 that im doing up. Last nite we made the date for June 1st that our vehicles are going head to head for a undecided amount of money. Whats your opinions? what could i do with that kinda time-frame and somewhat limited amounts of money? we're both in the same financial situations so its gonna be fair in that regard. I just want to make sure i beat him haha.

Kyle.

right now his ride should be quicker. if he had a GENIII motor now you would be in deep **** man. i speak from experience with a GENIII truck. you cant beat mid to low 14s stock with nothing more then K&N filter and a flowmaster.

best of luck but you have an 84 block. your in trouble lol

What budget do you have??? Do you have any parts already? What are your plans? I'm thinking no chance without nitrous right now. Better make sure other things are right, or you'll only have one race.

yeah the nitrous is coming. im planning out my suspension right now, although im not sure what exactly to go with, as far as which compenents will give me the best results quick, and who offers the best product. im pretty sure ill get most everything from Maximum Motorsports, they seem to come really well reccomended. OPINIONS WELCOME!

Full length subframe connectors
torque link bar
panhard bar
Lower control arms
torque box reinforcements
strut tower brace
Tubular k-member
A-arms
Front Coilovers
k-member brace
caster camber plates
adj shocks/struts

aswell as 5lug conversion with 31spline and rear disc conversion with the baer serious street package. believe 13" rotors and 2piston caliper. i hope to have some slicks for summer too. im thinking 4.10 for the rear end, ive got an 8.8posi right now with 3.73's.

ive got a fairly generous budget, for i care to spend money on nothing but my car haha, and rent and food of course but yeah. Prolly have about $1000 a month to mess with my car. any suggestions? please any help would be appreciated!

heads theres one month

suspension

traction bars
upper control arms
subframe connectors
50/50's in the back
eibach drag launch springs
some adjustables up front
some drag radials

and i'd put the rest in the motor with like intake, tb, and things like that to help it breath better

hahaha, naw im confident i can do it on this motor. its got edelbrock rpm airgap intake and 650 carb el. choke, as well as performance pulley's, headers and 2 1/2" flowmaster exhaust. NOS is on the way as well, and whatever else i can afford before time is up
