question about engine stalling
Hey everyone...
I have a problem with my 94 GT. Lately the engine has been stalling. It usually happens when I accelerate after stopping or when idleing for a while at a street light. I had the transmission rebuilt in June. Back in June, I was also told by the guys at the dealership that I should get my fuel line desludged. I have noticed that the car has been sluggish lately. One more thing that is occuring is a strong smell of gas within the car after I refuel. I have a convertible, so I'm not sure if that's normal. But it probably isn't. When the car stalls, only the engine stops. But all of the electrical stuff, like the radio, continues to work. After stalling, it takes about 2 or 3 minutes before the engine will turn over again. It does not sound like it is flooding. Does this sound like a fuel-related problem? I just wanted to check your opinion before I take it in. Thanks in advance.

I don't think that its the TPS, but check the voltage anyway, should be about .98 V or so. May need new fuel pump or filter, that sounds like the most likely problem.
have you noticed any change in normal engine running temperature?? if it has been running hotter it would be a fuel system problem and if it was colder than usually it could be a ignition system problem
