anyone here broken any motor mounts lately?
i was wondering if anyone has broken any motor mounts on a 5.0 alls i have is headers full custom exhaust 3 inch, intake, 4.10s and short shifter, i launched the other day and was vibrating more than normal it split the motor mount almost completely around, but my question is how much power will solid motor mounts hold? i have a twin turbo setup im installing and i just want to make sure that solid mounts are the way to go with this? any help or sugestions are appreciated

i bought my 91 and pulled the engine out that day. when I lifted the engine, one mount fell off and the other was hardly hanging on, guess I found the clunking noise. I bought energy motor and trans mounts. I gotta say I wouldnt use solids on a daily driven car

oh i see, that makes sense , do u think it would be ok for a couple months if i just check everything everyonce and awhile? cause ill just buy the energy suspension ones like u were sayin but i prolly have to wait a month or 2

^ that really wont be a problem because the engine will not be shaking anymore than it was before. it will just be shaking the car with it. Vibrating isnt a rough enough word for how that car is going to feel at idle. As for transmission mounts, it doesnt really matter if you go solid or not. You'll also notice that you will be turning the tires over easier also.
