Default Need Help!!

I have problems with my car shutting off when cold. I will start just fine but once the fast idle goes down the car has a hard time idling and it will shut off. It seems like there is not enough fuel mixture because it won't fire back up unless I pump the gas a few times. I also have symptoms that include: idle surging, cutting out during acceleration, and stalling. Please Help!!!

Recent Mods: Fuel Pump, Ignition coil, carburetor, and muffler bearings..........j/k

First thought it might be an IAC, but not if you're carbed. Is the hot idle set properly on the carbeurator? Have you checked for vacuum leaks? I kind of suspect a vacuum leak is your culprit.

I'm sorry forgot to mention it. It's a 1985 GT. It's too old for a code scanner isn't it? I did realize that there is no vacuum when the car is running for the hose that is connected to my vacuum advance. Do you think it is the EGR Valve? Thanx for the replies.

Could be a leak at any number of locations. The spark advance not having vacuum could also be from incorrect connection. Do you know how to check for vacuum leaks using carb cleaner or staring fluid?

I do know how to check for leaks with carb cleaner but I have not tried that yet. Not sure about the connection being good or not.

Could it also be a distibutor problem of some sort?
