Yup you got a 260...plus if it was an 85 you would actually have the roller lifter spider bosses in the valley where you could drill them and install a roller set up. That thing is pretty much useless for what you want to do...

two thing I saw on the posts 4.2L heads this is a new engine all older engine would be in cubic inches. Ford did not make a 4.2L V8 I would be interested in the block number found by the starter I can tell you a lot fron that. I have a 1985 HO with 1966 289 heads so I know how to make them work HO engines need shorter pushrods if adapted to older heads. I am wondering if your block is too lol I will try to find something with your information but the top looks like a 289-302 block

not all the 302 5.0L engines where HO in 85 that why there was to sets of spark plug configurations in the manuals if you get it backwards to catch the carburator on fire.

Well thats what I was thinking with the heads why would they be measured in L? I can look at the casting numbers to day and see what I have!
And about the vellay there is no holes what so ever there to tap and thread for the spider covnersion (roller cam)!
