mine does that when i downshift to decell, my dads a tranny tech and he said its normal.

no its not normal for a trans to wine, only if it is something like a g-force but that is because the way the gears are cut.

I also get a lttle wine in all gears if you listen carfully,when I put in my shifter a while back I started to notice it,might have been there before thow,but I've been in a couple that did the same thing,some louder than others..my buddy has a 05,it wines a bit also..

What kind of whine are we looking for? cruising whine or decelerating whine (while in gear). Whining in my tranny usually only occurs when im decelerating in first or second gear, not while cruising though, which I believe is pretty normal

how loud of a whine are you guys talking about? i never heard it with mine. a standard trans in good condation will whine very very little, you should not even notice it.

during full throttle accel. in 3rd gear, it honestly sounds like there is a quiet supercharger under the hood.

mine started whining a few days before it got stuck in 3rd and wouldnt come out... had to drive 30 miles in 3rd gear to get home... so good luck i wouldnt take it on any long trips if i was you

i agree in 3rd in my car it sounds like a blower. I heard they had problems with the like the 2nd to 3rd breaking so they made it stonger and now it whines.
